Been our local favorite for over 15 years!!! Food great, lovely owners - now the grandson and his family. They are always nice, welcoming and their staffs are the same too. They have made many changes - the decor, menu, etc. You must try the demi-poulet and the porc noir!

Amazing place for lunch on a Sunday. We turned up without a reservation and even though they were fully booked, they moved stuff around and fit five of us in. The service was very friendly and the quality of food was absolutely incredible at very reasonable prices too.

I went to Auberge Champetre with two friends who had been before. We didn't book rooms, just dinner, hence the blank above. I liked the restaurant, with a couple of criticisms. Overall, I'd very happily eat there again. We all had the 26 euro fixed menu, with a choice of three mains - steak, lamb or pork cutlet. Each of us had a different one. Rustic cabbage soup came included with our 3-course fixed price menu. It was OK, nothing memorable. (Menu - photo 6) All the meats on our main courses were well cooked, and portions were large. A huge bowl of sauteed garlic potatoes and a small side of beans and carrots came with the grills. We could only eat half the potatoes, so this is a good restaurant to choose if you're hungry. My steak was well seasoned, but unfortunately there was a lot of unpleasant gristle and rubbery fat. Maybe around 30% or a bit more. I know you always get some gristly bits and a bit of fat - but this was disappointing, as the rest of the steak was fine. My friends were both happy with their pork and lamb mains, the lamb was nicely pink inside. My sliced duck & salad starter (picture 2) was also a good portion size. I liked it, but wasn't so keen on the garlic croutons - just a preference, not a criticism. Desserts - delicious cafe gourmand (picture 3) and a small assiette de fromages (photo 4). The cheese plate was small - but no problem after such large starters and mains. Enough, and tasty. I thought the wine list was pretty good for a small restaurant, and there were options by the glass, and also half litre carafes available. Wine prices seemed reasonable, I think our half litre was 17 euros. The atmosphere is informal, which I liked. (See the picture of the interior - photo 5) But our table was right next to a large TV screen. There was a small group of very noisy customers gathered there - a little distracting. We were also at the open window next to the outside terrace - cigarette smoke drifted in. Two of us would have preferred chips to the sauteed potatoes. The restaurant isn't very scenic - it's a straightforward roadside diner, unpretentious. Except for the pretend cow on the roof!

Wonderful restaurant! We each had a different protein and each meal was amazing! The renovations after the fire that destroyed the previous structure are well done and make the restaurant a great place to enjoy with friends. This will be a regular place for us for years to come!
